We are excited to announce a new feature that allows customers to have real time visibility into the status of their orders via the weedmaps app, up through the delivery of your purchase.
No more manual chats or texts or dealing with carrier deliverability issues!
What does this mean for me?
If you currently send order status and ETA manually to consumers, you don’t have to do that anymore! We’ll take care of that for you
If you currently use SMS to send ETAs, you can certainly choose to keep the SMS, this will just be an extra reassurance that your customer will be notified. Due to the increased scrutiny on SMS from cannabis operators, this is a good alternative to ensure these messages are not blocked
How do I get this feature?
At the moment, as of Q1 2024, if you are using WM Dispatch as the last mile logistics software and Treez as POS, and has Order Integration turned on, this feature will be turned on for you automatically

Do I need to do anything differently?
No!
This ETA is not accurate, why?
Here are a few reminders to check if the ETA seems off:
Have your drivers ALWAYS keep the Drive app on and not close the app, this will impact the ETA calculation
Batch your orders, so that the system doesn’t think your driver is returning to base between each order. This will also impact ETA calculation
Know that if you change the order of the batch after the driver has left, this will impact ETA and may cause your customer see their ETA change

How much does this cost?

What exactly will be sent to the consumers?
In addition to order status updates, real time ETAs will be dynamically updated on the order confirmation page and the order status banner

Push notifications when driver is arriving soon (5 minutes away)
How does it work?
Consumers must be logged in to the weedmaps app in order to get order status updates
Based on the real time ETA, re-calculated every minute from the driver’s location using our app and the designated route, we’re able to automatically push the real time ETA to WM consumers
My customer said they never got the notification?
Your customer must have push notifications turned on for the Weedmaps app
