Content Restrictions

To pass moderation, your cover photo assets must adhere to the following rules:

  • No Social Media Handles or Web Links
Cover photos cannot include website URLs, social media handles (e.g., @yourbrand), or QR codes. Manage external links using the designated Social Media & Website section in Weedmaps Admin.

  • No Deals, Pricing, or Promotional Claims
Do not include discount percentages, price points, sale announcements, or promotional deal text in graphics.

  • No Third-Party Retailer Advertising
Cover photos cannot promote specific dispensaries, delivery services, or non-affiliated business entities.

Design Best Practices for Brand Cover Photos

  • Keep Focal Elements Centered
Keep key logos, product shots, and core graphics centrally located within the frame to prevent visual clipping on smaller screens or different display resolutions.

  • Format Desktop and Mobile Separately
Because desktop (16:9) and mobile (4:3) viewports use different aspect ratios, upload dedicated artwork for each layout rather than cropping a single file.

  • Prioritize High Contrast
Ensure logo text and visual elements stand out clearly against the background color or photographic backdrop for maximum legibility.

  • Export Clean, Uncompressed Files
Save assets at 72 DPI using maximum quality settings to avoid blurriness or compression artifacts.
