Delivery Service Areas (DSA) define the communities and neighborhoods your business serves. You can always create, modify, or update a DSA and boundaries at any time.

Both Weedmaps.com and WM Store may refer to your DSA to determine the following:

  • The correct delivery service listings to show to customers and patients

  • The proper menu to display if you have more than one menu associated with your WM Store

For situations where you may want to:

  • Create an area

  • Test an address for deliverability

  • Hide an area

  • Remove an area

This article walks through each scenario above. Let's get started.

Creating a delivery service area

NOTE: Creating a Delivery Service Area across state lines or other administrative boundaries, as determined by your validated license, results in an Out of Delivery Area error for orders placed in those areas.

Follow the steps below to create a new Delivery Service Area:

  1. Click the [ + ] button from the control panel:

    1. The new area (highlighted in blue) displays a default name you can edit:

      1. Click the edit button.

      2. Type the new name.

      3. Click the checkmark to commit the change.

      4. Click Save.

Polygon:

You can manually draw the precise shape of your DSA directly on the map. This is helpful when selecting areas of high value or avoiding undesirable locations.

Radius:

You can set a center point and draw a perfect circle for your DSA directly on the map.

Zip Code (US Only):

You can select specific zip codes to set your DSA. It may be simpler than the Cities option, which can sometimes yield complicated boundaries or create customer confusion.

Cities (US Only):

You can select specific cities to set your DSA. This is helpful when deliveries can only be completed in certain city limits because of compliance restrictions.

Testing for deliverability

Testing a handful of specific addresses is helpful to ensure the Boundaries in the Delivery Service Area cover them.

You can test addresses to ensure they fall within DSA with the Address Tester at the top right of the screen.

The Test Deliverability box

Follow the steps below to test address boundaries:

  1. From the control panel at the top left of the screen, select the desired Delivery Service Area.

  2. Type a test address in the Address Tester box and include:

    1. Street number

    2. City

    3. State

    4. Zip code

  3. Press Enter on your keyboard:

    1. If the test address is located within a boundary:

      1. Is Deliverable is indicated by a green dot next to the delivery listing menu.

The Is Deliverable message

  1. The pin for the test address displays in a green-colored portion of the map.

Hiding a DSA

When viewing the Delivery Service Areas for multiple menus under the same organization, it may be helpful to hide or show DSAs and boundaries on the map.

Follow the steps below to hide or show DSAs:

  1. From the control panel at the top left of the screen, select the desired Delivery Service Area.

Removing a DSA

Removing a Delivery Service Area disables the ordering capabilities for that delivery listing menu. Once deleted, the menu displays, but customers cannot place an order.

Follow the steps below to delete the DSA:

  1. From the control panel at the top left of the screen, select the desired Delivery Service Area.

  2. Click the Trash icon.

  1. Click Save to delete your Delivery Service Area.
