On Weedmaps, retailers licensed for both adult-use and medical sales can highlight specific products exclusively for medical patients. By marking these items on your menu, they will display a "Medical patients only" tag to shoppers.
*Please note that these instructions apply only to listings using manual menus. If your business uses a Point of Sale (POS) integration with Weedmaps, you must assign the product's medical status in your POS system to ensure it is correctly reflected on your listing.
How to Set Medical-Only Items
If you are licensed for both recreational and medical sales, you can highlight specific products for medical patients by following these steps:
Access Your Menu: To set medical-only menu items, log into your Weedmaps Admin account, click "listings," select "edit" next to your listing, and then choose "Menu" from the top bar
Edit the Product: Find the specific item you want to update and click the pencil icon to edit.
Adjust Availability: Locate the Availability section. Select the Medical button (it will turn gray when selected).
Save Changes: Click Save at the bottom right of the screen. The item will now display a "Medical patients only" tag on your public listing.
Important Considerations
Reverting Status: To make an item available to everyone again, edit the product and select Recreational.
Customer Verification: If you have WM Orders enabled, customers will be prompted to upload their medical card during checkout if their cart contains any "Medical-only" items.
