Does Weedmaps Accept Cash Payments at HQ?

Overview

While Weedmaps primarily utilizes digital billing (credit card and ACH), in-person cash payments are accepted by exception only at Weedmaps Headquarters in Irvine, California.

To comply with federal tax laws and corporate compliance policies, all cash, cashier's check, and money order transactions require prior authorization and must satisfy all requirements of the Weedmaps Cash Compliance Program.

Required Approval & Compliance Workflow

  1. Obtain Weedmaps Representative or Billing Specialist Approval
    Cash payments are not accepted on a walk-in basis without prior coordination. You must first contact your assigned Weedmaps Account Manager or Billing Specialist to request approval and initiate the cash intake process.

  2. Complete Verification Forms
    Before cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders can be accepted, you must first complete the required compliance paperwork:

    • Customer Verification Form: Required for all cash, cashier's check, or money order payments to verify account ownership and business licensing.
      ​

    • Courier Verification Form: Required if an employee, armored service, or third-party representative is delivering the payment on your behalf.
      ​

  3. IRS Form 8300 Reporting
    Information gathered from your verification forms is used by Weedmaps to complete IRS Form 8300 (Report of Cash Payments Over $10,000 Received in a Trade or Business) as mandated by federal regulations.

    Returned checks, cashier's checks, or money orders are subject to a $50 returned item fee.
