Weedmaps and NuggMD are partnering together to expand the market of medical cannabis shoppers by educating users about available telehealth options to get their medical marijuana card or ID.

Residents of FL, OK, PA, WV, LA who are 18 and older need a med card before they can purchase cannabis. From time to time, shoppers come to Weedmaps without a med card, which prevents them from legally ordering cannabis.

At various steps of the shopping journey, users without med card info in FL, OK, PA, WV, and LA will be informed that they can get a med card in just a few easy steps with no appointment needed (during 8am - 10pm M-F & 10am - 10pm Sat-Sun).

Once landing on NuggMD, patients can talk face-to-face with a qualifying doctor and get approved for a med card in minutes. While they will need to wait to receive their card in the mail, patients will also be guided back to Weedmaps when NuggMD reaches out to confirm they’ve gotten their card.

Giving MMJ patients the option to easily get their med cards online is a way to help ensure that they have access to the cannabis products they need, and telehealth is a fast and convenient way to get their card as quickly as possible.

Once patients have their med cards and upload that info to their Weedmaps account, the info is saved for all their future online orders, and they’ll receive reminders about their card’s expiration date, so they have the chance to renew it in time.

Users without med card info uploaded will encounter ads to get their med card online at various stages of the shopping journey.

When a user clicks to get a med card, they will land on a site with NuggMD and Weedmaps co-branding. We are passing the state the user is located in on WM to NuggMD so once the user lands on NuggMD they don’t have to select a state. Once on NuggMD, users can go through the process of talking to a medical marijuana doctor to get approved for a med card.
