When you’re using the Creative designer to create a new ad banner, you’ll need to create an approved design to proceed with your ad campaign. Here are some guidelines to follow and some things to avoid.

Approved design

Do

  • Write copy that follows Weedmaps’ Brand Book and Voice and Tone guidelines

  • Include the state or province-mandated disclaimer:

    • Disclaimers are automatically added by the Creative designer, but you’re still responsible for ensuring your ad complies with applicable laws)

  • Include your company’s logo if permitted in your state or province

  • Include any relevant state disclaimers necessary to ensure your deal is state-compliant

Breakpoints

Do Include important text in the 1000x1000 product/logo. The text will scale with the image and ensure that no text is cut off

Rejected design

Don’t

  • Use all caps in your copy

  • Use a background that is pure white:

    • Backgrounds that are pure white (#FFFFFF) blend into the rest of the page and your ad won’t stand out

  • Use images or mentions of vapes:

    • Content that includes vapes is not allowed on iOS apps

  • Include any disclaimers that aren't state-mandated or only relevant to your deal

Important:

  • Don't omit your company’s logo and name if they’re required by state law.

  • Don't include free product promotions (in California or other jurisdictions where giveaways are prohibited).

Breakpoints

Don’t include text in the background beyond the smallest breakpoints since they’ll be cut off in mobile views.
