Efficient delivery operations rely on seamless coordination between your dispatch team and drivers on the road. Adding delivery drivers to your Weedmaps Admin account enables you to assign delivery routes, track order fulfillment in real time, and empower your fleet with the WM Driver App.
Driver Prerequisites (Before You Begin)
Create a Weedmaps Account
The driver must have an active account registered on Weedmaps.com.
Verify Mobile Phone Number
The driver must add and verify their primary mobile phone number within their Weedmaps account profile.
Confirm Matching Details
Ensure the driver's legal name and verified phone number match the exact information you enter during admin setup.
How to Add a Delivery Driver in Weedmaps Admin
Follow these steps to send an invitation and assign a new driver to your organization:
Navigate to Weedmaps Admin and log in with your administrative credentials.
Select your avatar icon in the upper right-hand corner and choose Manage my orders from the drop-down menu.
Select the ORDERS tab from the left-hand navigation panel, then click the DRIVERS tab across the top menu.
Click the Add driver button located on the right side of the screen.
Input the driver’s full name and verified mobile phone number, then click Send Invitation.
Driver Onboarding & WM Driver App Setup
Once invited in Weedmaps Admin, the driver will receive an automated text message containing a direct link to download the WM Driver App (available on iOS and Android).
Driver Activation Checklist
The driver opens the SMS link to download the official WM Driver App.
The driver opens the app and logs in using their personal Weedmaps account credentials.
Once signed in, the driver can view assigned delivery routes, access customer order manifests, navigate destinations, and update real-time delivery statuses (e.g., En Route, Arrived, Delivered).
Managing Driver Status & Permissions
Active vs. Inactive Drivers
Keep your dispatch roster organized by toggling off-shift, seasonal, or former drivers to Inactive status. Inactive drivers are hidden from active route assignment options in WM Dispatch.
Dispatch & Route Integration
Added drivers automatically populate within your WM Dispatch dashboard, allowing dispatchers to batch orders and track driver locations on live maps.
Updating Profile Details
If a driver updates their phone number or contact details, update their driver entry under the DRIVERS tab to ensure uninterrupted SMS route notifications.
Troubleshooting & Best Practices
Invitation SMS Not Received
If a driver does not receive the app download link, verify that the phone number entered in Weedmaps Admin matches the phone number listed on their personal Weedmaps profile.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all active drivers carry a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, state/local transport permits, and printed or electronic slips as required by local cannabis regulations.
