For retailers to be able to add your products to their menus, you’ll need to add your products to Weedmaps. Products can be entered by CSV upload, or you can enter them one by one.

CSV upload

Before you begin uploading your products by CSV upload, you’ll first need to get your products into a CSV spreadsheet. You can start with this template and note that the Product Name and External ID fields are required and must be unique.

NOTE: If you entered some products and didn’t have an External ID, you’ll need to generate them, ensuring products aren’t duplicated during the import process. If this applies to your situation, you’ll see a warning message in place of Step 3 below. Click the Generate External IDs button that appears at the end of the warning message to have External IDs created for each product automatically.

  1. With your brand selected in WM Admin, go to the Product Management tab.

  2. Click the CSV button and select New Import.

  3. Click Add File and select your CSV file.

  4. The contents of your CSV file will be laid out on the page with dropdown menus beneath each header. Select the matching product attribute to map your data for each column you want to import. Make sure to map at least the Product Name and External ID fields.

  5. When you’re finished, click Import CSV.

  6. If your import is successful, you’ll see a message indicating the number of imported products with a link to return to your list of products.

    • If any products were not imported, you would see a warning message containing the row numbers where an error has occurred and a description of the issue.

    • Fix each issue and try your import again.

    • Products already imported will not be impacted if you haven’t made any changes to the other rows in your spreadsheet.

Manual entry

  1. With your brand selected in WM Admin, go to the Product Management tab.

  2. Click New product.

  3. Enter the Name and Description of your product and click Save Changes.

  4. Enter basic details about your product. These fields are optional, but the more detail you enter, the easier it’ll be for a consumer to find your product.

    • Avatar image: Your product's avatar image is what will appear on your brand's page. Click the ? icon to see its specifications.

    • Published: Check the Published checkbox to make your product available to retailers and list it on your brands' page. Unchecking this box will hide the product from retailers attempting to add new products (products that retailers have already added will be unaffected) and from your brands' page.

    • External ID: Use this field to enter a unique identifier for your product, such as an SKU number. This must be a unique number across all your products.

    • Gallery images: Will appear on the product's detail page. It's a good idea for the first image to be the same photo as what you use for the avatar image (with a different aspect ratio) so that customers browsing your brands' page and clicking to see product details aren't alarmed to see a completely different image. Up to four images can be uploaded, and you can click the ? icon to see its specifications.

    • Categorization: Select the main and subcategories for your product. This allows consumers to search for your product by category on Weedmaps.

    • Featured Products: If you'd like to make this one of your featured products, check the Feature this product box and enter its Featured Position. Featured products will appear at the top of the list in your Products tab with a Featured badge.

    • Discovery tags: Click View All Tags, select any tags that apply to your product, and click Confirm. Discovery tags appear beneath your product’s description and allow consumers to search and filter results to find your products.

    • Strain: You can manually select the strain here, or if the strain name is in the name of your product, you can set Auto-tagging to enabled, and your product will be tagged automatically if the names match up. Strain details will appear after your product’s description, allowing consumers to search and filter results to find your products.

    • Genetics: You can select one of these choices (or none). This allows consumers to search and filter results to find your products.

    • Cannabinoids: Enter the THC and CBD details, or if those details are included in the title, you can enable Auto-tagging, and those details will be added automatically.

    • Retail information: Enter the MSRP and items per pack. Keep in mind that retailers are allowed to set their prices on Weedmaps.

    • Regions: If your brand is listed in more than one region, you may want to make your product region-specific here, so you can change how your product is listed in each region. You can leave this field unselected if your brand is only listed in one region.

  5. When you're done, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

  6. As long as the Published checkbox is checked, you can click View Product Page near the top to see how your product looks on Weedmaps.

NOTE: Your product will not appear on the Products tab of your brands' page until at least one retailer has added it to their menu.

Automated Publishing

On the Product Management tab of the Weedmaps brand Admin page there is a setting to “Auto approve publishing requests.” When toggled on, that setting allows brands to automatically approve additions to your product catalog made by the Weedmaps’ curation team. Keeping this setting turned on will increase your brand's visibility on the platform, help consumers to find your newest products and help you keep your brand page up to date.

Day-to-day maintenance of your catalog will still be managed by your in-house team and you still retain ultimate control of what remains published on your brand page.

If you have any questions about this feature or Weedmaps curation services, please reach out to your account manager to learn more. Alternatively, our support team can always be reached at [email protected].

Deleting products

To delete a product, you need to unpublish it. You can do this in bulk or one product at a time from the Product Management tab.

Bulk:

  1. Select the checkboxes next to the products you want to unpublish.

  2. Select Unpublish from the Bulk Action menu that appears.

  3. Look for the notification informing you if your bulk action was successful.

One product at a time:

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the product you want to unpublish.

  2. Uncheck the Published checkbox just beneath the Avatar image.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
