You’ll need to add your products to Weedmaps so that retailers can add them to their menus. You can upload your products as a CSV file or enter them individually

CSV upload

Before you start uploading your products using a CSV file, you need to prepare them in a CSV spreadsheet. You can use this template, but remember that both the Product Name and External ID fields are required and must be unique.

For detailed steps on uploading your products via CSV, please refer to the specific article on the CSV Import Tool. This will guide you through the process more comprehensively

Manual Entry Instructions

1. Select Your Brand: In WM Admin, choose your brand and navigate to the Product Management tab.

2. From the menu tab, select Product Management.

3. Add a New Product: Click "Add products," and select “ Create product.”

4. Marketplace settings

  • Published: Check this box to make your product visible to retailers and list it on your brand's page. Unchecking this box will hide the product from retailers looking to add new products (note that products already added by retailers will remain unaffected).

  • Featured Products: To highlight a product, toggle the "Feature product" option. Featured products will appear at the top of your Products tab with a "Featured" badge. The most recently featured product will be displayed in the first position.

  • Regions: If your brand operates in multiple regions, you can specify region-specific details for your product. You can leave this field unselected if your brand is only listed in one region.

  • Discovery Tags: These tags will appear under the product description, allowing consumers to filter search results and find your products.

  • External ID: Enter a unique identifier for your product, such as an SKU number. This ID must be unique across all your products.

5. Product details

  • Name: Provide the name of your product.

  • Description: Write a description for your product. Remember, the more details you provide, the easier it will be for consumers to find your product.

  • Product Image: This image will represent your product on your brand's page.

  • Gallery Images: These images will show on the product's detail page. It’s advisable to use the same image as the avatar for the first gallery image (though with a different aspect ratio), so customers aren't surprised by a completely different image on the product details page. You can upload up to four images.

  • Categorization: Select your product's main and subcategories to assist consumers in searching by category on Weedmaps.

  • Strain: If the strain name is included in the product name, you can either manually select it or enable auto-tagging. If enabled, your product will be tagged automatically based on name matching. Strain details will show below the product description for easier consumer searches.

  • Genetics: You can select one or more genetic options (or none), which will help consumers search and filter results.

  • Cannabinoids: Enter the THC and CBD details, or enable Auto-tagging if these details are included in the title; those details will be added automatically.

  • Retail Information: Input the MSRP and items per pack. Note that retailers can set their own prices on Weedmaps.

6. Save Your Changes: Once you’ve completed all sections, click "Done" at the top of the page.

7. Preview Your Product: As long as Published is enabled, click "View Product" at the top to see how your product appears on Weedmaps.

**Note**: Your product will not show on the Products tab of your brand's page until at least one retailer has added it to their menu.

Automated Publishing

On the Product Management tab of the Weedmaps Brand Admin page, you will find an option labeled “Auto-approve publishing requests.” When this setting is enabled, the Weedmaps curation team can automatically add newly verified products to your brand’s catalog without requiring manual approval.

Keeping this feature activated increases your brand’s visibility on the platform, helps consumers discover your latest offerings more quickly, and ensures that your brand page remains up to date. Additionally, auto-approval lets retailers immediately feature your products on their menus, making them visible to customers in real time.

You will still retain full control over your product catalog, and your internal team will continue to manage its day-to-day maintenance. You can remove or edit any items at any time.

If you have questions about this feature or about Weedmaps’ curation services, please contact your account manager. You can also reach our support team anytime at [email protected].
