Map view and dispatch workflow

The map view allows the dispatcher to visualize their entire cannabis delivery operation(s) in a single geospatial tool.

Each map pin represents a delivery job that has been placed at your dispensary. Clicking the information icon in the dispatcher sidebar menu will display all of the pin and icon definitions.

Batch planned routes

To the right of the map view is the dispatcher sidebar, which is used to assign drivers to jobs and to plan routes in a batch.

Creating a batch

  1. Enter a job into WM Dispatch manually or (the recommended way) have your POS or eCommerce integration automatically populate jobs for you.

Once the delivery order has been turned into a job, it’ll be added to the Unassigned Queue.

  1. Using the Shift or Command key, select the jobs from the list that you want to batch together for a single driver.

A green action bar will appear at the top of the list showing the total value of the batch and the total number of associated deliveries.

Managing departure times and dispatch methods

Once you’ve assembled your batch:

  1. Either press D on your keyboard or click the green action bar.

  2. Click Manual Dispatch.

When selecting a dispatch method, you’ll have the option to select:

  • Dispatch as individual jobs

  • Batch jobs - manual optimization

Dispatch as Individual Jobs: Will dispatch jobs separately and not as a single batch.

Pick up order A from base → drop off order A → return to base → pick up order B.

Drop off order B → return to base → pick up order C.

Repeat this process till all orders in your queue have been delivered.

Manual Optimization: Will rely more heavily on the dispatcher to set the order routing.

Pick up orders A, B, and C from base → drop off order A → start the route to drop off order B → drop off Order B → start the route to drop off order C.

Drop off order C → return to the base to pick up another batch of orders.

Assigning drivers

  1. Click Select Driver to assign a driver to the batch.

  1. For all active drivers, click the Online Drivers tab.

  2. To queue up jobs for a driver coming in later that day, click the All Drivers tab and search for their name.

  1. Select their vehicle and decide to either dispatch the driver immediately or later.

  1. The dispatch sidebar menu will update showing the driver their newly assigned jobs and the route the driver will take to deliver the orders.

Driver Management

Online drivers will have a blue dot next to their names, while offline drivers will have a gray dot next to their names. The driver’s online/offline status is managed through the driver app.

The dispatcher sidebar menu will show all active drivers for your base.

The base name will either be:

  • Dispensary location

  • Storage location

Clicking the driver’s name

  • You’ll go to where the driver’s currently located

  • Basic information about the driver’s ETA from their main base

  • Their current speed when driving

  • When their details were last updated

image.png

Additionally, you’ll have three (3) clickable buttons to either interact with drivers or get more details about their recent jobs:

  • Info: Prompts a new screen that’ll show basic information about the driver, the vehicle, and the number of jobs completed and queued

  • Microphone: Clicking and holding the microphone button will allow you to record a message that will be sent to the driver

  • Message bubble: Sends a quick message to the driver through the in-app messaging tool.

Creating a job

We recommend having all jobs created through our eCommerce or POS integrations, however, you’ll still have the ability to create delivery jobs manually when needed.

  1. Click Add Job on the top right corner.

  2. You’ll be brought to a form where you’ll need to fill in basic information about the delivery job.

Minimum requirements for a job

Fill in the customers:

  • Phone number

  • Contact name

  • Pickup and dropoff addresses

If you have any additional notes from the customer regarding the job, you can add them to the dispatch note section.

Once the fields have been filled, you can save the job where it’ll appear under Unassigned or Reservation, depending on what time was set.

Additional features to help customize the jobs

  • Pricing estimates

  • Scheduling auto dispatch

  • Items

Pricing Estimates

Based on the pricing settings that you’ve configured for your platform. The final price may be different than the estimate based on unexpected delays, wait times or detours that the driver encounters along the way.

You can show the driver the estimated price in the driver app by checking the box next to Est. Price.

Scheduling Auto Dispatch

Set a specific auto dispatch method or a specific time to have the job automatically dispatched.

  1. Click Schedule Auto-Dispatch at the bottom-left area of the add job form.

  2. Enter the relevant information.

If you later decide to dispatch the job manually:

  1. Click Clear to disable the Auto Dispatcher.

Items

If you need to include order details regarding the items being delivered to the customer:

  1. Click Item at the end of the Add Job form.

  2. You’ll be prompted to include details regarding the item.

The form that appears for Items is customizable. You can edit this form by going to Settings > General > Job Item Structure.
