Best practices for your 'About Us' section

Your 'About us' section introduces your business to potential new customers and patients. If you're writing it from scratch, consider the below items to help.

Who are you?
- Be as detailed as possible in your description.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) utilizes your words to help customers and patients find your business via Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
- What can you share about your company's history?
  - Tell the story of when and where you were founded, or how long you've been in the industry.
  - Share any specific ties you have with your local community.
  - Share your mission statement.
- What common questions can you answer? Include important business details.
  - Retail Storefronts — Help customers and patients plan their trip to your location.
    Do you offer on-site parking or are you close to mass transit?
    Are there nearby recognizable landmarks?
  - Delivery Services — Give customers and patients as much information as possible so they can be aware of how long they should expect to wait.
    When are the best times to place an order?
    When are peak times with the longest waits?
How to edit the 'About us' section
After you log in to your Weedmaps Admin account, navigate to the Details tab.
1. In the Details section, scroll down to About Us.
2. In the About Us text field, enter details and information about your business.
  - To create headers, select the desired text and click the B button to make the text appear in bold.
3. Click Save (scroll down if necessary).

Announcements

Best practices for your 'Announcements’ section

Announcements are great ways to keep your current customers informed about changes or special events happening at your business. Consider the below items to help you write an announcement.

Include any temporary updates about your business, such as any changes to your days or hours of operation.

Promote new products you've added to your menu. Highlight them as Featured Products for extra attention!

Provide updates on new services, such as the addition of WM Orders, or curbside pickup and delivery.

Keep your message short and sweet, as announcements have a maximum of 255 characters (including spaces).

Update this section regularly: For returning customers, this is where they look for news about your business. Maintaining fresh information keeps loyal customers engaged.

How to edit the 'Announcements’ section

After you log in to your Weedmaps Admin account, navigate to the Details tab.

1. In the Descriptions section, scroll down to Announcements.

2. In the Announcements text field, enter details about your event, update, or special notification.

To create headers, select the desired text and click the B button to make the text appear in bold.

3. Click Save (scroll down if necessary).

First-Time Customer Announcements

Share expectations and specials with first-time customers. Some retailers choose to remind customers to have their government issued ID in-hand or share details about a 10% off discount for first-time customers.

Support the cause

Retailers can select applicable causes that they would like to support.

Age Gate

Select Age Gate if your listing should display an Age Gate, which will ask customers to confirm they are at least 18, 19, or 21. Requirements may vary by region so double-check your local laws.
