Weedmaps offers two types of point-of-sale (POS) integrations with MJ Freeway:
Live menu integration: Allows for a listing’s menu to be built directly from the POS system and periodically sync to keep your Weedmaps menu up to date
Order integration: If a customer places an order on Weedmaps, the order will automatically be sent to your POS for fulfillment

Before enabling the live menu integration on Weedmaps, please make sure you:
Have your API credentials from MJ Freeway
API Key
Facility ID
Organization ID
User ID

Setting up a live menu integration
Log in to your WM Admin account
Navigate to the LISTINGS tab to locate your listing and select EDIT
Select the MENU tab at the top of the page
Select the POS Integration button located at the top right corner of the page
Please Note: If you currently have a menu, the message below will appear on the POS Integration page:
"Looks like this menu has items in it. To integrate this menu, you must first delete all current items or create a new blank menu. Then connect the newly created menu to your listing. Click here to create a new menu."
Before you can integrate, you will need to either clear the existing menu or create a new one and set it live. Steps to create a New Menu are found here.
From the Point of Sale dropdown, choose MJ Platform
Enter your API credentials, and click Next
Choose the desired Integration options you would like to have for your integration settings
Click Save
Frequently Asked Questions
Which POS providers support this type of integration?
As of March 2021, MJ Freeway is the only POS provider with this type of integration.
When will this integration become available for other POS providers?
Weedmaps is working to onboard other POS partners. More to be announced soon.
Can this integration be used for hybrid listing menus with both medical and recreational items?
As of March 2021, menus have to be set as either medical or recreational only. In the near future, Weedmaps will support combined med/rec menus for hybrid listings.
After the initial setup is complete, how do I know the integration is working correctly?
While logged in to your Weedmaps Admin account, you can view the Sync Activity. This is where you can confirm whether or not there were any issues with your credentials or the overall setup process. The Sync Activity page is also where you can view the number of menu items that have been "crawled" as well as the number of new items added to your Weedmaps menu from MJ Freeway. This is the same page where you are alerted of any errors or issues regarding the sync activity.
Can I uninstall or pause this type of integration?
Yes, you can disconnect the integration if needed.
If I make changes to my menu via Weedmaps Admin panel, are those updates also reflected on my POS?
No. Any changes made to your menu via Weedmaps Admin panel only modify your Weedmaps menu, not your POS menu.
Do the product photos added via MJ Freeway carry over to my Weedmaps menu?
Yes, the product photos in MJ Freeway carry over into your Weedmaps menu.
When connecting my Weedmaps menu with MJ Freeway, is there any downtime?
Downtime is to be expected, but it is minimal. It takes only a few minutes for your MJ Freeway menu to load on Weedmaps. For larger menus, the downtime can take a bit longer (up to 10 minutes).

Why are my product images not showing on my Weedmaps menu?
Please ensure your products within MJ Freeway meet the following requirements:
The image size is a minimum of 600 x 600 pixels
The image file type is either .png or .jpeg
Please note: Images in .png & .jpeg format downloaded from the internet are often automatically converted to webp. file types which will not display on Weedmaps.The image is directly uploaded into your POS system and not uploaded from a third party
Where should I edit and modify my menu items?
Once you are menu integrated with your MJ Freeway POS system, all edits and modifications made to products need to be made directly in your POS system. If you make changes to the menu items directly on Weedmaps, it can disrupt the integration between Weedmaps and MJ Freeway. The only edits or modifications that can be made on Weedmaps is featuring a product and brand verifications.
Why are orders showing the customer's last name as "Weedmaps"?
If the customer did not add their last name to their Weedmaps account, "Weedmaps" will automatically default as the customer's last name to avoid any issues with the order integration.
Do ID images transfer to MJ Freeway from Weedmaps?
No, images of customer IDs will not transfer to your POS system when customers complete an order on Weedmaps. You can locate customer IDs in the order information in Weedmaps Admin.
Can sales prices from MJ Freeway appear on my Weedmaps menu?
No, if you have sales pricing enabled in MJ Freeway, it will not appear on your Weedmaps menu. If you would like to display sales pricing on Weedmaps, you can manually enable sales strikethrough pricing on your Weedmaps menu or create a promo code.
If I create a promo code on Weedmaps, will it transfer to my MJ Freeway POS system when a customer places an order?
Promo codes created on Weedmaps will show in the Notes Field in MJ Freeway once a customer applies the promo code to their cart and completes an order on Weedmaps.
Will my taxes in MJ Freeway show on Weedmaps?
Yes, both sales and excise taxes are sent to Weedmaps if you are order-integrated. The taxes set in MJ Freeway will be reflected in customers' carts during the final phase of checkout on Weedmaps as an overall tax total. If you are not order-integrated, taxes can be set on Weedmaps as an estimate for customers during checkout.
If I change an order status in my MJ Freeway POS system, will the order status change on Weedmaps too?
Yes, once you change an order status in your POS system, the order status will change on Weedmaps. Please advise, it can take up to 15 minutes for the order status to change on Weedmaps.
