How to integrate with Treez

Weedmaps offers two types of point-of-sale (POS) integrations with Treez:

  1. Live menu integration: Allows for a listing’s menu to be built directly from the POS system and periodically sync to keep your Weedmaps menu up to date

  2. Order integration: If a customer places an order on Weedmaps, the order will automatically be sent to your POS for fulfillment

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to set up live menu and order integrations:

How to set up a live menu integration with Treez

Before enabling the live menu integration on Weedmaps, please make sure you:

  1. Have your Treez API key

  2. Have your Treez URL

Setting up a live menu integration

  1. Log in to your WM Admin account

  2. Navigate to the LISTINGS tab to locate your listing and select EDIT

  3. Select the MENU tab at the top of the page

  4. Select the POS Integration button located at the top right corner of the page​

    Please Note: If you currently have a menu, the message below will appear on the POS Integration page:

    "Looks like this menu has items in it. To integrate this menu, you must first delete all current items or create a new blank menu. Then connect the newly created menu to your listing. Click here to create a new menu."

    Before you can integrate, you will need to either clear the existing menu or create a new menu and set it live.

  5. From the Point of Sale dropdown, choose Treez (Crawler)

  6. Enter the API Key and Treez URL, then click Next

  7. Choose the desired Integration options you would like to have​ for your integration settings​

  8. Select Save

How to set up order integration with Treez

Before you set up an order integration, you will need:

  1. At least a Basic listing account with Weedmaps

  2. Live menu integration

  3. Orders enabled on Weedmaps (you have the Add to cart option available on your menu)

  4. An account with Treez

  5. Your Treez API credentials

    1. API key

    2. Treez URL

Please note: Setting up an order integration is not available for self-service use and will need to be enabled by Weedmaps Support.

Why are my product images not showing on my Weedmaps menu?

Please ensure your product images within Treez meet the following requirements:

  • The image size is a minimum of 600 x 600 pixels

  • The image file type is either .png or .jpeg
    Please note: Images in .png & .jpeg format downloaded from the internet are often automatically converted to webp. file types which will not display on Weedmaps.

  • The image is directly uploaded into your POS system and not uploaded from a third party

Why are my products not showing on my Weedmaps menu?

Confirm you have inventory in stock in your Treez POS system. If you do, ensure the inventory in stock is above the Global Minimum Inventory Threshold set within Treez.

Where should I edit and modify my menu items?

Once you are menu integrated with your Treez POS system, all edits and modifications made to products need to be made directly in your POS system. If you make changes to the menu items directly on Weedmaps, it can disrupt the integration between Weedmaps and Treez. The only edits or modifications that can be made on Weedmaps are featuring a product and brand verifications.

Will my taxes in Treez show on Weedmaps?

Yes, both sales and excise taxes are sent to Weedmaps if you are order-integrated. The taxes set in Treez will be reflected in customers' carts during the final phase of checkout on Weedmaps. If you are not order-integrated, taxes can be set on Weedmaps as an estimate for customers during checkout.

Do ID images transfer to Treez from Weedmaps?

No, images of customer IDs will not transfer to your Treez POS system when customers complete orders on Weedmaps. You can locate customer IDs in the order information in Weedmaps Admin.

Why are orders showing the customer's last name as "Weedmaps"?

If the customer did not add their last name to their Weedmaps account, "Weedmaps" will automatically default as the customer's last name to avoid any issues with the order integration.

If I create a promo code on Weedmaps, will it transfer to my Treez POS system when a customer places an order?

Yes, a promo code created on Weedmaps will automatically transfer to your Treez POS system when a customer applies it to their cart and completes an order on Weedmaps.

Why are orders double discounting once the customer places an order on Weedmaps and it appears in my Treez POS system?

If you have a promo code or discount enabled in your Treez POS system and on Weedmaps, they will apply to an order once a customer places an order on Weedmaps and it appears in your Treez POS system. This can cause the order to double discount. To resolve this, we recommend creating an in-store deal on Weedmaps instead of an online deal.

Can sales prices from Treez appear on my Weedmaps menu?

Yes, sales prices from Treez with no conditions applied will appear on your Weedmaps menu. If there are conditions applied to the discount in Treez, it will not show on Weedmaps.

Why were my products unpublished on Weedmaps?

This can happen if the Hide from the Menu setting is toggled on under the Product Management section in Treez. To resolve this, un-toggle this setting.

If I change an order status in my Treez POS system, will the order status change on Weedmaps too?

Yes, once you change an order status in your POS system, the order status will change on Weedmaps. It can take up to 5 minutes for the order status to change on Weedmaps.
