How to integrate with Treez

Weedmaps offers two different POS integrations with Treez:

  1. Live Menu Integration: Sync your POS menu with Weedmaps so that you only need to update your menu in one place

  2. Order Integration: If a customer places an order on Weedmaps, the order will automatically be sent to your POS for fulfillment

How to set up a Live Menu integration with Treez

It's now easier than ever to connect your Treez point-of-sale (POS) data with Weedmaps for WM Integration. After you get set up, here’s what you can expect:

  • Initial sync will begin in a few seconds and may take about 30 minutes to complete

  • You can manage your product information all in Treez

  • Changes in product information and inventory from Treez will automatically update on your Weedmaps menu

  • You can also change product information from Weedmaps and that stays in place unless you change the information again in Treez

Setting Up Your Menu Integration

Before getting started, make sure you have your Treez API key.

If you don't have your Treez API key, contact Treez Support at [email protected] with the following message and they'll reply with a unique key for each location in your account:

"We would like to have an API key generated for our Weedmaps menu. We are account <YOUR ACCOUNT NAME>."

NOTE: If you already have an integration in place, you'll need to disconnect it first. Follow these steps:

  1. From WM Admin, find your business from the Listings page and click EDIT.

  2. Go to the MENU tab.

  3. Click POS Integrated.

  4. Click Disconnect.

  5. Confirm that you want to disconnect your existing integration.

  6. You may need to refresh the page to make sure it's disconnected.

Once disconnected, you'll be able to follow the remaining steps to set up a new integration.

  1. Log in to your WM Admin account.

  2. Find your business from the Listings page and click EDIT.

  3. Go to the MENU tab.

  4. Click POS Integration.

  5. From the Point of Sale dropdown, choose Treez.

  6. Enter the below information for each field.

    • API Key (optional)

    • Treez URL (This is the URL you use to access Treez in your browser. Example: mydispensary.treez.io.)

  7. Select whether or not to enable auto-tagging in the Integration options section.

    • Auto-Tag Cannabinoids: When enabled, the integration will attempt to determine CBD & THC amounts based on values provided in the menu item’s name when no cannabinoids are provided. This will not remove any currently associated cannabinoids.

    • Auto-Tag Strain: When enabled, the integration will attempt to determine strain based on the associated menu item when no strain is provided. This will not remove any currently associated strains.

  8. When you’re finished, click Create.

Congratulations! Your integration will initiate and it could take up to 30 minutes to complete. If it is taking longer than 30 minutes to complete, reach out to Weedmaps Support at [email protected]

NOTE: If your integration has completed its initial sync, and you notice that products that were previously listed as branded/verified products no longer display the blue checkmark indicating that the brand has confirmed you’re authorized, you may need to re-verify those menu items.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can this integration be used for hybrid listing menus with both medical and recreational items?
Yes, Weedmaps supports combined medical and recreational menus for hybrid listings with Treez.

After the initial setup is complete, how do I know the integration is working correctly?
While logged in to your Weedmaps Admin account, you can view the Sync Activity. This is where you can confirm whether or not there were any issues with your credentials or the overall setup process. The Sync Activity page is also where you can view the number of menu items that have been "crawled" as well as the number of new items added to your Weedmaps menu from Treez. This is the same page where you are alerted of any errors or issues regarding the sync activity.

Can I uninstall or pause this type of integration?
Yes, you can disconnect the integration if needed.

If I make changes to my menu via WM Admin, are those updates also reflected on my POS?
No. Any changes made to your menu via WM Admin only modify your Weedmaps menu, not your POS menu.

Do the product photos added via Treez carry over to my Weedmaps menu?
Yes, the product photos from Treez carry over into your Weedmaps menu.

When connecting my Weedmaps menu with Treez, is there any downtime?
Downtime is to be expected, but it is minimal. It takes only a few minutes for your Treez menu to load on Weedmaps. For larger menus, the downtime can take a bit longer (up to 30 minutes).

How to set up an Orders Integration with Treez

Track and manage all your pickup and delivery orders received via Weedmaps directly from Treez.

  • Centralized menu management:

    • No more manual updates or double entry into POS.

    • Keep track of online orders and inventory from one place.

  • Real-time inventory updates:

    • Assure customers your Weedmaps menu items are in stock with products and pricing that is accurate.

    • Update your Weedmaps menu almost instantaneously when inventory is added or removed from Treez.

  • Streamlined order fulfillment workflows:

    • Online orders sync catalog, inventory, tax, and promotional data to make compliance reporting as easy and efficient as in-store ordering.

Retailers using Treez as their POS system can enable integration with WM Orders.

You must have the following features enabled for a successful Orders integration setup:

  • At a minimum, a Basic Listing account with Weedmaps

  • WM Orders enabled

  • WM Integration

  • An account with Treez or an integrated POS provider
